'Let your light shine' Matthew 5:16
Welcome from our Headteacher
Our school is a thriving, happy one form entry primary school. We are a Church of England and Methodist School. Our Christian foundation underpins the ethos and life of the our small, family primary school.
We believe that every child is made in the image of God and is unique. It is our responsibility to help them find their gifts and the confidence to let their light shine (Matthew 5:16), so that they can become the best version of themselves. We encourage every child to grow academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually. We have an exciting curriculum and we aim for children to leave us with a love of learning and the ability to think and question.
As a Church school, we enable children to grow in, and reflect on, their own faith -no matter what that may be- and to respect the beliefs, opinions and lifestyles of others. We want them to grow into people with strong values that will enable them to make their communities better places in which to live and work.
The children are at the heart of all we do and our staff team work incredibly hard to help every child achieve the highest standards that they can during their time with us. We want our children to do their very best so that they are well prepared for the next stage in their education, ready to succeed at their secondary school and the rapidly-changing world beyond.
The best way to find out more about us is to visit us during a normal school day, where you can observe some lessons and talk to the staff and students about their experience at Hawkesley. We are happy for prospective parents to visit us at any time, please call 0121 459 6467 to book an appointment.
A final note from me: we all know the world at present is very different and uncertain because of events linked to Coronavirus (COVID-19). At Hawkesley, we have been working tirelessly to ensure that this does not impact negatively on the educational experience of our students. We will ensure that this website is updated with the very latest information you need linked to COVID-19. You will find that strict health and safety procedures are in place, and that our school has a thorough and creative remote learning policy which can be used to ensure that all of our children are able to shine, despite current challenges.
Best Wishes,
Mr. Sam Smith, Headteacher
