Grounds Improvement Group
Welcome to the Grounds Improvement Group,
or G.I.G for short.
What are our aims for this year?
We are currently working on a project to improve an area of the school grounds. After completing a pupil survey we found out that an area within the school grounds is not being used to its fullest potential. As a result of this pupil survey, we have embarked upon a task to turn this particular area into a place for prayer and reflection, which can be used by both pupils and staff during break times and lunch times.
We are aware that sometimes children come to school with worries. It may be a family worry or an illness, or sometimes a child may just want a quiet time on their own. It isn’t always easy to find a quiet place on a busy and noisy playground. Therefore, we intend to provide an area for this purpose.
Who are the G.I.G members and how were we chosen?
The G.I.G members are made up of one teacher, Miss Garratt and eight children from Years 5 and 6.
In order to join the group the children had to fill out a job application form, get references from their teachers and go through an interview with Miss Garratt!
Look out for us working in rain or shine on this project and watch as the area changes.
